Port Aransas Beach
With soft sand and the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico, Port Aransas Beach is an ideal destination for some fun in the sun. You can enjoy 6.3 miles of magnificent shoreline, creating amazing opportunities for casual strolls and a range of other recreational activities.
If you want to enjoy a somewhat guided tour while you walk, take advantage of the Beach Walk hosted by the Parks and Recreation Department on the 4th Friday of every month. You can look for colorful shells or simply learn more about all of the sea creatures you may spot during your journey.
For those who want to take a dip into the Gulf, head to the coastline between Sandcastles Drive and Avenue G. From Spring Break to Labor Day, lifeguards operate in that area, ensuring you have someone keeping an eye over you and your family. Swimming is also allowed in other sections of the beach, but there may not be lifeguards on duty.
Boats, kayaks, paddleboards, and a variety of other watercraft are also welcome in the water near Port Aransas Beach. In fact, your dog can even join you on your boat or in your kayak, providing they remain under your full control.
Camping is allowed on Port Aransas Beach as well. There is a three-night limit during any three-week period. Tents do not require a camping permit, though a parking permit is necessary if you have a vehicle. Other camping options may require an additional fee. Small campfires are permitted on the beach as long as they are no larger than 3 feet by 3 feet.
Dogs are welcome at Port Aransas Beach as long as they are on a leash. This helps keep them under your control, allowing you to guide your pooch away from other visitors and area wildlife. Additionally, bring baggies so you can remove any pet waste. This helps keep the beach clean, ensuring everyone can enjoy their visit.
