Swanzy Beach Park

Swanzy Beach Park is 5 acres of grass and beach in Ka'a'awa on O'ahu's windward coast. The name of the beach isn't Hawaiian, but it's named after an island resident, Julie Judd Swanzy, who generously donated the plot of land to the City and County of Honolulu in the 1920's. The beach is not great for swimming, as there is a shallow reef, but it's used by fishermen, picnickers, and campers. The beach is not very busy, and you may even get the whole place to yourself! In which case you and your best pal can enjoy the ocean views in peaceful solitude. 

At Swanzy Beach Park, doggos are allowed in all areas below the seawall. This includes a narrow strip of sand, and the ocean itself. This family friendly beach park has many other great features, including ample parking, picnic tables, public restrooms, playgrounds, and camping is available on the weekends with a permit. 

Even though the beach isn't the best for swimming by human standards, your dog is still likely to get enjoyment from splashing and playing here. It's a great place to dip your toes and let your dog cool their paws as well. Bring along some water shoes if you'd like to head into the water with your pal. Since the beach is narrow, keep in mind that there won't be much of a beach left at high tide. The beach is facing the east, and is a great place pass through on your morning jog with Fido and enjoy the sunrise. 

Pups are welcome at Swanzy Beach Park as long as they stay leashed, picked up after, and below the seawall. By following these rules and showing proper petiquette, you can help keep this beach park a clean and safe haven for all to enjoy. Bring any essentials, such as water to drink and clean up bags.
