In fact, the resort is so close to Turtle Bay Beach that parking is in the resort's parking lot! This is free, but sometimes it can be tough to find a spot for you and Spot.Â
Leashed pups are welcome on resort property and everywhere on the beach, including in the water. Most visitors don't swim here, however, because of the rock surface at the near shore and a large limestone reef further out. People and their canine companions come here to bask in the sun, walk the beach or walking path above the beach, or have a picnic in the shade of the ironwood trees lining the rear of the beach. There's also Roy's Beach House cafe right on the beach with pup-friendly outdoor seating!Â
Located at the northernmost point of Oahu, on the coast where other legendary beaches are known for their great rolling waves that land right at the shore, Turtle Bay's waves are beyond the limestone ledge, and provide satisfying rides along with entertainment for those waatching from the beach.Â
If you and the pooch are in the mood for a walk, the paved path behind the beach and around the resort is pawrfect! Strolling among palms and ironwoods, with barktiful tropical flowers and shrubs providing bursts of exotic color is the ideal way to walk off some of Roy's furlicious food!Â
Whether you're a visitor, staying at the resort, or a resident of nearby Kohuku, Turtle Bay Beach is a furbulous, low-key combo of sand, sea and sun with few people, that will remind you of what these shores may have been like centuries ago. Aloha!
