Need a new place to take your pooch? Load up your pup and make your way over to Ulehawa Beach Park for some fun in the tropical sun! It has gorgeous blue water, white sand, and palm trees. Your pup will absolutely love this place!
Ulehawa Beach is situated on the west shore of Oahu. The
canine guidelines for this beach are pretty straightforward. Dogs are welcome
to go anywhere below the high tide line. If you aren’t quite sure what this is,
just look for the line of washed up seaweed. Since this beach is about a mile
long, your furry friend will have plenty of room to roam. It’s impawtant to
know that there are quite a few rocky patches along the beach. If your doggo
wants to go exploring on the rocks and look for tidepools, help guide them
along so they can avoid any sharp ridges.
If your pup wants a
sandy stretch unobstructed by rocks, stick to the southern section of the beach. This is where you’ll find swimmers, surfers, body boarders, and other
beach goers. Bring a blanket and settle in
for the afternoon. Your furry pup will be in heaven as they romp around in the
waves! Towards the middle of the beach, the Ulehawa Stream flows into the sea.
Always be alert since high waves and strong currents are known to form on this
beach.
The beach is connected to a 58 acre park. Here you will
find picnic tables, restrooms, and showers. Palm trees and other shrubs provide
some shade. If your pup needs a break from playing in the water, take a short
walk around the park. Wherever you go, remember to always have a clean up bag
so you can pick up after your pooch. And don’t forget to bring plenty of cold
water.
No bones about it, your pup will go coco-mutts over this
pawsome beach!
