Is your pup itching to get out of the house? Then grab the leash and head on over to Waiahole Beach Park for some fun in the sun. Your doggo will love spending time by your side in the great outdoors. Nestled at the base of the Waiahole Valley, this beach has puptacular scenery and is the pawfect place to watch a sunset.
Waiahole Beach Park isn’t what comes to mind when you think of a relaxing Hawaiian beach. In fact, there is hardly a beach at all. The very narrow beach area has dark sand and is usually covered in driftwood. And speaking of dark, the water on this beach is pretty murky. This is hardly a place for spreading out a towel and soaking in some rays. Even though canine visitors are allowed anywhere beneath the high tide line, this isn't the best place to explore.
While swimming, laying out, and frolicking in the waves
may be out of the question, this beach park is a puptastic place for fishing.
When you visit, you will pawbably see some local fishermen. If you have a patient
pup, bring your rod and reel along and try to bring in a whopper. While you
cast a line, your pup can gnaw on a piece of driftwood or gaze out at Chinaman’s
Hat, a small island just offshore. The beach park also has a nice grassy field.
Stroll around the lawn with your furry BFF so they can get some much needed
exercise.
Wherever you wander, make sure you have a clean up bag so
you can pick up after your canine companion. Also, your pup will be most
appreciative if you carry some cold drinking water. You never know when your
doggo will need a drink!
For some beautiful oceanfront scenery, take your pooch
to Waiahole Beach Park!
