Badgerland Campground
Badegerland Campground has been refaced and updated after being taken over by new owners in 2012. With modern amenities and flexible accommodations right down the road from Lake Kegonsa State Park, this Wisconsin campground is the "pawfect" place to pitch a tent with your pooch.
Badgerland's dog policy is simple; keep your pooch on a leash at all times and tidy up any messes they make. Never leave your pup unattended. Aggressive behavior and excessive barking are also frowned upon. Aside from that, you are your pooch are invited to explore all the campground has to offer together!
When it comes to accommodating guests, Bargerland has 109 campsites ideal for tent and RV camping. Some of the sites come with water and electric hookups and others are primitive. Primitive sites begin at $32.50 and offer visitors a "ruff" yet authentic camping experience. A newly renovated trailer rental unit has recently become available and is dog-friendly if you don't have a camping vehicle but would like to try one out!
There's plenty to do when visiting Bargerland, both at the park and within close driving distance. Lake Kegonsa State Park is right down the road and has hiking "oppawtunities" for you and your pooch. For a short half-mile hike, walk along Lakeshore Trail where you can observe swimmers and boaters enjoying the calm lake. For longer hikes, you can explore Prairie Trail, which is 1.3 miles long. If you do visit this state park, remember that your pup must remain on their leash at all times.
Back at the resort, you can choose to relax by the swimming pond or cast a line at the fishing pond -- either choice is equally enticing. The floating trampoline found in the swimming pond attracts the kids, and the calm, sandy beach is fitting for adults. The on-site playground is an alternative for entertaining the kids, and the recently added bar an alternative for adults!
