Bahia Honda State Park

With beautiful beaches, pristine waters and an enviable tropical climate, Bahia Honda State Park is a favorite destination for many travelers in the Florida Keys. Covering over 500 acres and an offshore island, the park is a snorkeler's and beachcomber's delight. Best of all, pets are permitted within the park.

However, it's worth pointing out that due to the small area of land encompassed by Bahia Honda State Park, there's only limited accessibility for pets. Your pooch is not permitted in cabins, bathhouses, pavilions, or the concession building, and they're also not allowed on any beaches or in the water. If camping with your dog, you'll need to make sure that you stick to the designated areas at all times. Your pooch must be well-controlled and on a hand-held leash no longer than six feet, and you'll also need to clean up after your dog whenever necessary. 

Rules and regulations aside, Bahia Honda State Park offers plenty of opportunities for outdoor fun and relaxation. The best way to spend your time in the park is either on the beach or in the water. Whether you're soaking up some sun, cooling off in the water, or admiring some of the underwater marine life, you'll have hours of fun here. Kayak rentals are available, as are daily snorkeling tours to the Looe Key National Marine Sanctuary.

Anglers, nature lovers, and picnickers also have plenty to see and do in the park, so it's well worth checking out if you're ever in this part of Florida. The campground features 42 RV or tent sites and 30 tent-only sites, all of which are pet-friendly. Six cabins are also available but do not welcome pets.
