Description

Experience island camping on Priest Lake at Bartoo Island Group Site. You'll need a boat to access this primitive, tent-only campground. Come here with 10 to 30 of your friends or relatives to enjoy the solitude of this puptacular facility. Amenities include fire rings and picnic tables. You'll have to plan to bring water and a portable toilet in your portage supplies. Toilet buckets are available for check-out at Kalispell Boat Launch. You can also get drinking water at this location. Enjoy spending your days boating, fishing, and hiking when you stay here.

The group site sits on the northeastern side of Bartoo Island. You'll be camping under the cover of trees by the beach. Once you set up camp, hop in your boat, canoe, or kayak to access Upper Priest Lake Scenic Area. Enjoy the pawmazing beauty of this remote spot before returning to your base. Spend some time touring the 25,000-acre lake and fishing for trout and kokanee salmon. You can also explore the islands in this large body of water. There's a hiking trail on neighboring Kalispell Island. Pass behind campgrounds as you circle this land mass. You and Fido can marvel at the jaw-dropping views of the lake and mountains on your trek. On warm summer days, lounge on the beach and take a dip in the water to cool off.

You can share this pawtastic island adventure with your pup. Dogs must be on-leash and supervised at all times. Scoop and pack out their poop or bury it to avoid spreading any disease to resident wildlife.

Rustic camping is available by reservation at the Bartoo Island Group Site for just $10 per night. Enjoy the sunny summers here with your friends and family. Fish, hike, boat, and be on the lookout for wildlife like moose, deer, and a variety of birds. You'll have to bring garbage bags with you here; it's a pack-in, pack-out facility. Store all food and scented supplies in sealed containers to avoid attracting resident bears.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
