Description

Dog Creek Idaho is an ideal campsite to visit with all your family members, including your pooch. The campground is situated in a quiet, serene ponderosa pine forest with campsites located in a grass-covered meadow. It can be found at the bottom of the Trinity Mountain Range, providing visitors to the grounds unforgettable scenic views.

Unfortunately, the park has been closed due to wildfires that tore through the area in 2013, but it is set to be re-opening as early as this July 2018. If you're visiting the Idaho area, be sure to check into the Dog Creek Campground official site for updates regarding the park's status.

At the campground, there are a total of 13 sites available with drinking water but no electricity or flushable toilets, giving you an authentic camping experience. Vault toilets are available for use. The permit fee for the campground when it is open is 10 dollars for a one-night stay or twenty dollars for two nights. Dogs are permitted in the campground and at the river, but they must remain on a leash at all times.

The Beautiful South Pork Boise River can be found running along the east side of the campground. Here, you and your family can cool off while enjoying swimming, fishing, rafting, and other water activities. If you're looking to explore the outdoors and take your pup on a hike, there are a variety of trails to choose from.

Located about a mile away from the campground is Green Creek trail. The trail is a total of 4.5 miles long, making it perfect for dog walking, horseback riding, dirt biking, and hiking. If you want to stay closer to your site, Cross Cut Trail is accessible from the campgrounds and is used for biking horseback riding, off-road vehicles, hiking and of course dog walking.

If you are in search for a peaceful getaway in Idaho, be sure to check out Dog Creek Campground.
