Big Cypress RV Resort and Campground is a unique camping destination as it's actually located within the Big Cypress Seminole India Reservation in the Florida Everglades. Not only is this a scenic vacation spot, but it’s enhanced by allowing you to experience aspects of the aboriginal culture.
There are a variety of accommodations offered at this campground including those for RVs, tent campers, and individuals looking to stay in cabins. Tent sites come equipped with water and electric services, as well as a grill and picnic table.
There are both pull-thru and back-in RV sites, all of which have water, sewer, and electric hookups. These sites also come with a grill and picnic table for guests to enjoy. Propane and dump stations are found within the grounds. If you're a camper who needs air conditioning, cabin rentals are offered that come as standard, deluxe, or VIP. All cabins have AC and the VIP cabins come with kitchens and full bathrooms.
This campground is pet-friendly, but unfortunately, that is only if you are staying in an RV. Neither tents nor cabins allow dogs. If you do bring your pooch, remember to keep them on a leash when outside of your RV. You are also expected to tidy up all pet waste and ensure no excessive barking happens during your stay.
If you're looking to learn more about the aboriginal culture, check out the Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum located not far from the campground. At the campground, you can also find a real chicken hut, which you're free to visit. Within the campground, there are all sorts of ways to stay busy including swimming in the heated pool, visiting the clubhouse, or using the exercise machines. There are also outdoor pool tables, basketball, bocce ball, mini golf and horseshoes for sports.Â
The Florida Keys has much to offer its visitors, and this rare camping location is a one-of-a-kind you don’t want to miss out on.Â
