Bloomington West
Bloomington West is a group campground in Lawrence, Kansas, just west of Clinton Lake and Dam. The campground is nestled in a hillside under a canopy of mature trees. This campground can accommodate groups of up to 150 campers for $125 per night. Bloomington West is a great place to camp in a tent, trailer, or RV, and your dog can come along as long as they're kept on a leash no longer than six feet when they're not in your camper.
There are all sorts of amenities at Bloomington West that make it the pawfect place to camp for your next family function and other group getaways. For your convenience, electricity and water hookups, picnic tables, laundry facilities, fire rings, and a covered dining area are provided. You'll also have access to drinking water, flush toilets, showers, and grills. There's a boat ramp about a mile from the campground, and that's a great place to start enjoying all that Bloomington West has to offer!
The campground has all sorts of facilities to keep campers entertained, including horseshoe pits, a volleyball court, a softball field, and a playground. Anglers can take to Clinton Lake, which is stocked with bass, catfish, walleye, and crappie. The lake is also used for boating, swimming, canoeing, jet skiing, and other water sports. There's plenty of wildlife around the lake too, and hunting is common in the area. You'll find three trail systems around the lake where you can hike with your leashed dog, ride horses, or mountain bike.
This busy campground should be reserved well in advance so you don't miss out on your spot. During your stay, be sure to stop into the visitorsĀ center on the northwest side of the lake, where you'll find several displays explaining the wildlife in the area and the history of Clinton Lake and Dam.
