Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory

Butterfield RV Resort and Observatory is a 55+ resort offering RV sites and park model rentals. The resort only accepts fully self-contained vehicles and although it's predominantly for the over 55s, they will happily accept families throughout the season and snowbirds during the colder months. But bear in mind that the activities reflect the general clientele they are trying to attract. 

The park is well maintained and offers plenty to do. The RV park has 173 sites, all of which are landscaped and level. Each site has full hook-ups, which also include telephone capabilities, cable, satellite, and 50-amp service on each site. There is onsite propane available, as well as a dump station, but as the resort is located in a desert, there is no shade except for a pine tree located on each site.

All common areas require keypad entry, and the park is walled in from all sides to keep it secure. Amenities are plentiful and include restrooms, hot showers, and laundry rooms. There are Ramada picnic and barbeque areas available, complete with a 40ft long swimming pool, a spa, and a clubhouse with many scheduled events. There’s a library, a computer room, a gym, a radio check, and a game room. On the premises, you will also find a camp store, gift shop, and a wood shop.  

The observatory is the highlight of Butterfield resort as it is staffed with astronomers and there are regularly organized astronomy lectures and telescope viewing at no additional charge.

The park welcomes guests with pets and has two enclosed pet areas for exercise, but you will have to keep your dog leashed to avoid disturbing others outside of these. Plus, dogs are not allowed within park model rentals and you'll need to bring your own supplies as there are strict rules about cleaning up after your dog on this site.
