Calhoun A-OK Campground
The Calhoun A-OK Campground is located in Calhoun, Georgia, between Atlanta and Chattanooga. Nestled in the foothills of gorgeous mountains, the campground is more like a mini-adventure zone, with game rooms that include a 9-foot screen perfect for movies, as well as video games and karaoke. You'll also find a petting zoo and a swimming pool. Mine for gems or play horseshoes on the camp lawn. Kids of all ages will enjoy the playground and the video arcade. As if that weren't enough, a small pond is found on the property for catch-and-release fishing, which means there's something here for the whole family to enjoy.
Rates for overnight camping start at ruffly $26 per night for tent sites. Many of the RV sites are full hook-up, and there is a dedicated area for tents. If you don’t have an RV, the property has nine deluxe cabins for rent. The cabins are equipped with TVs, fridges, picnic tables, and a fire pit for cooking or making s’mores.
Other amenities include an on-site restaurant and camp store where you can find food, firewood, and basic RV supplies. The restaurant’s menu includes several kinds of pizza, BBQ wings, chicken fries, etc. Cream puffs and chocolate eclairs are available for dessert. Orders are cooked fresh and can be delivered right to your campsite for an easy, relaxing meal.
Calhoun A-OK Campground also has amenities for our four-legged friends! Fido can run off-leash in the special pet area or romp on-leash around the grounds and pond. Chasing the wild peacocks that roam the property might be irresistible to your pup, but is frowned upon by management.
Nearby outdoor activities include hiking, kayaking, and boating on Carters Lake. For local indoor activities, check out the New Echota Historic Site that celebrates the cultural influence of the Cherokee people. A shopping mall and local antique stores can also be found in downtown Calhoun.
