Description

In the untamed wilderness of Central Oregon's Deschutes National Forest, located where Candle Creek meets the Metolius River, lies Candle Creek Campground. Offering a tranquil setting, access to heaps of recreational opportunities. and pet-friendly camping, it's a beautiful spot to spend some time in the great outdoors with your canine pal.

The clear and cold waters of the river are a popular attraction for anglers, with rainbow trout, whitefish, kokanee salmon, and other species on offer. Hikers and backpackers are also well catered for and have an extensive network of trails to choose from, whether they want a riverside stroll or a trek through dense forest. And if you love wildlife watching, you'll find plenty of fascinating creatures just waiting to be discovered!

If you're planning on staying the night, please note that this is a primitive campground with no water or electric hookups available. However, vault toilets are provided and each site has its own picnic table and fire ring. There is no water at this campground, so you'll need to bring with you a sufficient supply for your stay.

Please note that while Candle Creek Campground can accommodate tents, trailers, and RVs, the winding gravel access road means it is not recommended for RVs or trailers. The campground has a maximum site spur length of 20 feet, and campsites start at $12 a night.

Pets are welcome in the campground, but you'll need to make sure to pick up after your pet whenever necessary. Your pooch will also need to be kept on a leash at all times.

Candle Creek Campground's beautiful location makes it a pawpular spot from May through September. Most sites are available by reservation but some are on a first-come-first-served basis.

It's a lovely spot to stay a while and explore the breathtaking natural scenery with your dog, so make sure it's on your list of must-visit pet-friendly campgrounds in Oregon.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
