Bring your pooch along with you to Cook's Lake, but be respectful of other guests and make sure you tidy up after your pet. You’re also asked to keep them on a leash at all times that is no longer than 8 feet in length. Guests are reminded that excessive barking is not permitted and dogs are never to be left unattended.

If you’re looking to stop by the campground just for the day, day passes are available during the hours of operation of the bait shop. With the purchase of bait or tackle from the shop, you can gain entry for only $12.00. Camping prices are also modest, with primitive tent camping costing only $14.00 per night plus an additional $3.00 a person. Tent sites are located in a shaded area. Interestingly, equestrian sites are available for those looking to camp with their horse, as a multitude of trails surround the grounds that are perfect for riding.

RV sites can range in their accommodations. Sites without electric hookups come with sewage and an accessible fill station for water. There are also fully loaded sites that come with all hookups (water, sewage, and electric) for those looking for a luxurious camping vacation.

You’ll always have something to do at Cook’s Lake. Fishing is a favorite, with anglers coming from afar to explore the 30-acre lake for its treasures. Within Cook's Lake, fish species include bass, crappie, catfish, and bream, to name a few. You actually get to keep what you catch each day (up to 30 pounds), so you can even cook your catch that very evening on your site. The campground has its own professional hatchery for fish, which allows them to stock the lake twice a month, and a fish cleaning station for guests to use.

On top of fishing, you can take a dip in either Cook’s Lake or the in-ground pool. There is also a playground, boat dock, and boat rentals for guests. Facilitated activities are offered as well as hiking, horseback riding, and biking.
