Just eight miles north of Jacksonville, Illinois sits the Crazy Horse Campground on 55 acres of lush, rolling land. There are 103 campsites, and many of them have all of the amenities you could dream of, as well as a more primitive camping area to choose from. Some guests stay just for the night, but Crazy Horse Campground also welcomes long-term visitors in their RV sites with full hookups. This dog-friendly campground just asks that you keep your pooch on a leash when they're not in your tent or RV and that they're always supervised.
Campsites at Crazy Horse have picnic tables and fire rings. Thirty-three sites offer wifi, and many have full electric and water hookups, as well as covered picnic areas. If there's anything you happen to forget, the camp store offers firewood and ice, snacks, drinks, hot food, and other supplies. There's also a recently remodeled lodge on site where campers can enjoy arcade games, foosball, board games, a pool table, and much more. Each weekend, the campground offers a hot breakfast in the morning, and campers under three eat free!
During your stay, be sure to look out for planned activities at the campground each weekend. They host events like camper appreciation weekends, Halloween activities, Fourth of July parties, and much more. Other fun activities on-site include the swimming beach, a playground, the well-stocked fishing pond, a disc golf course, and live music every Saturday. If you're up for a walk, there are nature trails near the campground, as well as more intense hiking paths.
The campground strictly enforces their speed limit, and guests caught speeding may be asked to leave. Up to eight overnight campers are permitted at each site, but if you have more than three adults and three children, you'll be subject to a small fee increase. Be sure to book your stay at Crazy Horse in advance, especially if you're visiting on a holiday weekend!
