Double J Campground

Situated not far from Springfield in Chatham, Illinois, Double J Campground is a dog-friendly, family-oriented campground where you will find nothing but pleasure. This campground has 122 sites available for campers. All sites that aren’t seasonal have a pull-thru and full hookup services, including water, electric, and sewage. Both 30 and 50 amps are available and so is cable TV and wireless internet. All sites come with picnic tables and fire-rings.

Pets are allowed to camp at Double J, but there are rules to be followed. If you bring your pup, be sure to bring a leash to keep them near at all times, and clean up any dog waste in a timely manner. Although dogs are not allowed in buildings, storm shelters are scattered throughout the grounds and in the event that there is a storm, dogs are welcome here. Dogs are to be walked in one of the three designated walking areas where you can find poop bags and trash cans.

Perks of the grounds include a propane fill station for guests to use and a convenience store with various camping items that can enhance your stay. There is also an RV station with parts where you can complete little fixes on your vehicle, if necessary. A meeting room is offered for guests in addition to laundry facilities and clean bathhouses.

To fill your day, you can check out the various activities offered at Double J. There is a swimming pool, recreation field with a basketball court and playground, mini golf, volleyball, horseshoes, and shuffleboard. If you leave the campground, nearby is the Lincoln Library and Museum or Henson Robinson Zoo for you to explore.
