Hide in the forests by Saint Charles Creek deep in the valleys of Davis Canyon with your pooch this summer! Access all of the amazing terrain that this area has to offer with up to 40 of your closest friends at Davis Canyon Campground, a group campsite just before the Davis Canyon Campground Overflow Area.
Things are fairly primitive at these grounds, but you will find campfire rings and picnic tables on the actual site. Drinkable water is not right at this large site but can be found down the road at the overflow area. Don't expect to find RV hookups or comfort stations here -- although there is ample space to pull through a big rig. There are several, small, first-come-first-served sites available for single families to stop at near the large site.
What this place lacks in frills, it makes up for in gold! That's right -- you'll get a chance to go gold panning if you visit this campground. The area is also heralded for its amazing hiking and mountain biking trails. Hop in the car to reach the Minnetonka Cave, which is just a few minutes away, making for an incredible day-trip adventure. There is also swimming nearby, hot springs, and a waterfall, as well as pretty much every outdoor activity you can think of! Bring your OHV to drive through some of the trails that lead right up on the rocks of the canyon, offering a breathtaking view during all of the good times.
Pets are most certainly allowed at this campground, but any rules after that get a bit hazy. We recommend asking what the official pooch rules are when you call to reserve your spot so you know before you go. It's always a good idea to keep your dog close to you, as there are bears in this area. And nobody likes stepping in your pupper's mess, so please bring some poop bags with you for quick and easy cleanups.
If wild terrain, beautiful waterfalls, refreshing swimming holes, and deep caverns sound like your kind of fun, be sure to visit Davis Canyon Campground!
