Diamond Lakes Regional Park Campground is a public campground located in the 286-acre Diamond Lakes Regional Park in Augusta, Georgia. The regional park is situated on the historic Augusta International Speedway. In addition to the campground, the park is now home to a community center, gym, public library, eight tennis courts, several baseball and softball fields, and a sand volleyball court. It also features five fishing ponds, picnic areas, a playground, and a picnic pavilion. Both the park and the campground are dog-friendly, but canines must remain leashed and supervised at all times during their visit. Please make sure to pack plenty of dog waste bags and clean up after your four-legged family member.Â
The Diamond Lakes Regional Park Campground offers tent and RV camping in a beautiful, nature-filled environment. There are 25 full hookup sites available, two of which are pull-through. Big rigs are accepted too, since there are several spacious sites designated for RVs no longer than 45 feet. Water, electricity (20, 30 and 50 amp) and sewage hookups are available at all sites. Each campsite features a picnic table and fire ring. There is an ADA accessible bathhouse which is equipped with flushing toilets and hot showers. Most of the sites are shaded with lakeside views or in wooded areas that provide visitors with plenty of privacy.Â
What makes the campground special is that you can hike, fish, and have hot dogs over the fire one day, and the next, you can wake up to birds chirping and go for a game of tennis or softball right at the park. If you like golfing, check out the Augusta National Golf Club that is 15 miles away from the campground. Fishing requires a license, so make sure to have one from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources before arriving if that is one of the activities you want to enjoy while camping. Swimming and motorized boats are prohibited. Make sure to store food properly and use appropriate trash receptacles for waste, especially since there is lots of wildlife in the area.Â
Prices start at $30 per RV site and include water, electricity, and sewage. Tent sites are $15 per night.Â
