If you’re looking for some outdoor rest and relaxation on Georgia’s gorgeous Lake Seminole, you’d be barking mad not to consider camping at Eastbank Campground! The campground has plenty of amenities to make your stay as comfortable as possible, making this an ideal choice for pups and people looking for a lakeside experience that doesn’t require them to sacrifice too many of their creature comforts. You and your pooch will have access to water and electricity hookups, laundry facilities, and showers.
The location is pretty pawesome, too! A lot of the sites have fabulous views of the lake, and there’s plenty of tree cover. Not all sites are shaded, though, so plan accordingly. Eastbank is an understandably paw-pular place, so it’s best to make your reservation early, particularly if you’ll need to stay at one of the campground’s accessible sites. There are also primitive sites available for those who want a more rugged experience (or to save a little cash). There’s a $5 entrance fee to the area, and sites start at $14.
You and your pooch certainly won’t be bored during your stay! The main attraction, of course, is the water. Lake Seminole is famed for its fishing -- cast a line and you have a good chance of catching all sorts of bass and catfish. You can even prepare your dinner at the campground’s fish cleaning station, and the nearby Apalachicola River System provides even more angling op-paw-tunities. There’s also a nearby boat ramp, but make sure that your buddy is wearing a doggy life jacket if you’re planning to take them aboard! Non-furry family members might enjoy a swim, but unfortunately, your four-pawed pal will need to stay on dry land. The area doesn’t have much to offer serious hound-dog hikers, but the two-mile nature trail through the wooded hills is still well worth a wander.
WiFi isn’t available at Eastbank, but most cellular networks should receive at least some service. Remember to bring waste bags for your pupper, and have a furrific time at Eastbank Campground!
