Going down to south Kentucky for a canine-friendly camping trip? Well, have we got the place for you! Off the shores of Lake Cumberland sits the perfect, private Fall Creek Campground, nestled deep inside of a dense forest. Though the lake itself gets pretty busy all through the summer, this facility is small, so it never gets overcrowded.
Just ten campsites can be found at Fall Creek, though the lots are quite spacious and each one sits right on the water. Guests have access to a modern restroom facility and have both picnic tables and fire rings available at their site. Every day you'll be waking up to beautiful scenery -- and maybe even a critter or two, as the lake is a popular sanctuary for the area's wildlife. Don't worry about packing water, as the camp offers faucets on-site as well as a dump station for RVs and trailers. Keep in mind that running water is often turned off during the winter months.
The rate to stay here is a standard $22 per night and includes electric hookups. A shelter on the property is also available for rent, chargingĀ $35 per day of use.
Like most of the guests that come to Fall Creek, you'll probably have your eyes set on the lake -- and for good reason! This large body of water is an excellent place to go canoeing, kayaking, boating, or fishing, as the lake is filled with all kinds of bass, bluegill, and other types of fish. Hikers (both two- and four-legged) will be happy to hear that the property includes 10 acres of terrain just waiting for you to explore. A playground is also provided for mini-campers to burn off that extra energy they always have too much of.
Pets are welcome at this campground, but, as always, it's important that you make sure your furry pal doesn't bother any other visitors to the area. Keep this place pup-positive by doing your part and properly cleaning up after your pooch. While it is unclear if a leash is required, we suggest you bring one along just in case.
