If you love water-based recreation, camping, and spending time with your pooch, you'll feel right at home at Fall Creek State Recreation Area. Located in Lane County, Oregon, this charming little park draws outdoor enthusiasts from far and wide.
Located on the shores of Fall Creek Reservoir, the park offers a stack of facilities and activities. However, you won't be surprised to learn that most of the fun in the park takes place in, on, or near the water. Swimming, boating, and fishing are all hugely popular pastimes, and there are five day-use areas spread around the shores of the lake.
If you want to stay a while, Cascara Campground offers 39 primitive campsites that feature lovely lake views and are close to a boat launch ramp and a swimming area. However, there are vault toilets only and no showers, so this isn't the ideal destination for those who like to have all the creature comforts close by. (We meant it when we said this place was primitive!)
The campground is open from May 1 to September 30. A $5 daily parking fee applies, while campsites in the Cascara Campground are $19 a night. Camping with a group? Just across the street from Cascara Campground is Fisherman's Point, which is the only reservable group campsite in the recreation area. The best part? The group site sits right on the lake, so you can chill out with your canine companion while enjoying scenic views.
If you're camping with your canine at Fall Creek, make sure you keep your pooch leashed at all times and that you follow all posted rules. It's also essential that you clean up after your dog whenever required and properly dispose of their waste.
Fall Creek State Recreation Area is a beautiful spot for a pet-friendly camping getaway. If you and your pooch love nothing better than "ruffing" it a little in the great outdoors, this pretty spot is well worth a visit.
