Georgia Freshwater Campground at Clay Hill (also known as Clay Hill Campground) is one of three sister campgrounds all located on Clark's Hill Lake in Lincoln County, Georgia. This campground is a hidden gem and frequented often by the locals, making it the perfect vacation destination for relaxation.
At Clay Hill Campground, there are only 17 sites available, 10 of which are recently updated and 7 that are primitive. All primitive sites come with a fire pit and have access to the bathhouse, where you'll find clean showers and flush toilets. Rates for these sites are only $15 per night. The updated sites include water and electricity and are perfect for RVs and pop-up trailers. These sites also have access to all campground amenities. All sites are waterfront, and therefore your mornings at Clay Hill will be serene, complete with breathtaking sunrises.
Like its sister campgrounds, Clay Hill is dog-friendly, welcoming dogs of all breeds. While in the campground, you're reminded to clean up after your pooch and to abide by the leash regulations. Your pup must be kept on a leash at all times that is no longer than six feet. Dogs are permitted on all campsites and are free to swim in the lake.
While visiting Clay Hill, you have an opportunity to venture the lake by boat as there’s a boat launching ramp. Only a few miles away by boat is Raysville Boat Marina, where guests can fill up their vehicles before heading back to their sites! Swimming and water sports are other popular activities. As the campground's shoreline location makes it a prime spot for fishing for freshwater fish, such as bass and bluegill, it's an angler's dream. Other activities you can enjoy while visiting include roasting marshmallows by a cozy fire while sitting under the stars, or hiking through the trails located nearby.
If you're considering camping in Georgia with your pooch, be sure to swing by the quiet and quaint Clay Hill Campground. The intimate, lakefront experience is one you won't forget.
