Description

Looking for a deluxe camping spot close to Orlando and the Space Coast? Well look no fur-ther than Highbanks Marina and Camp Resort! Perched on the banks of the St. John’s River in DeBary, FL, Highbanks has all the mod cons a pup and their person could ask for. You and your pup will have access to hot showers, full RV hookups (including 30 and 50 amp electricity, water and sewage), and laundry facilities. There’s even a dog park where you can let your buddy lose the leash, and there’s a country store on-site, so there’s no need to waste precious luggage space on provisions. Not only that, but Highbanks is in a seriously pretty spot. The property is wooded, with ample opportunities for wildlife viewing, and some sites have waterside views.

You and your pooch are sure to sniff out something to do during your stay! Avid anglers will no doubt be keen to cast their line into the river, and there’s a small fry pond and a fish cleaning station on-site. Non-furry family members are sure to appreciate the pool, horseshoe pit, and billiard room. The Swamp House Riverfront Grill serves up some mean seafood, and they welcome wagging tails outside. Highbanks also does pontoon rentals -- make sure your doggo is wearing a life jacket if you plan to head out on the water!

You’ll also find plenty of op-paw-tunities for adventure in the surrounding area! You’re just a forty-five-minute drive away from Orlando, and seventy-five minutes away from Cape Kennedy. Hound-dog hikers might also want to explore the trails at nearby Wekiva Springs or Blue Springs State Park.

Of course, all this comes at a premium. Highbanks charges $48 per night for a standard RV site and $65 for the larger "SuperSites". The resort is pretty paw-pular year round, so it’s best to make your reservation early.

WiFi is available at Highbanks, and most cellular networks should receive decent coverage. Campfires aren’t permitted, but feel free to bring your own grill! One further note -- there are some breed restrictions, so contact the resort before you go to make sure your pupper is welcome. Remember to bring waste bags for your four-pawed pal, and have a furrific time!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
