Ho Hum RV Resort is a hidden gem in Carrabelle, Florida -- what it lacks in pools, fancy spas, and elaborate sports complexes, it makes up for ten-fold with a secluded beach teeming with wildlife, friendly staff, and brilliant watercolor sunrises.
The resort sits at the convergence of the Gulf of Mexico, Apalachicola National Forest, and Tate's Hell State Forest, with Lanark Reef, a small isle owned by the Audobon Society, just a mile offshore. Lanark Reef is nicknamed "Bird Island" due to the plethora of fowl that nest there -- talk about bird dog heaven! Speaking of Fido, the resort welcomes furry guests, but just asks that you be courteous to other guests by picking up after your dog and keeping them on a leash while you explore the grounds. Dogs love taking a morning stroll on the quiet strand of beach that connects to the property -- especially since the morning tide washes up all kinds of goodies to sniff!Â
The resort has three "tiers" for motorhome sites, each with slightly different pricing. Tier A positions campers right on the Gulf, with a 250-foot lighted fishing pier directly in front of the sites. This area has the highest rates in the park, but is still only $45Â a night -- good luck beachfront location that cheap anywhere else! Tier B sits just behind Tier A and is classified as "beach view" rather than "beachfront" -- daily rates for these sites are mid-range at $41 per night. Interior-facing Tier C may not have a view, but it's still only a ball's throw from the shore, and is quite the bargain at just $36 per night!
Another fun fact about this pawesome place? You can buy doggie waste bags on-site if you left yours at home! All the profits raised in the RV park store benefit the local Humane Society, so you can help out the local community while restocking on supplies or buying souvenirs.
