Holly Bay

Holly Bay Campground is a pawesome place for camping in Kentucky! The campground sits right beside Laurel River Lake in Daniel Boone National Forest. You can stay there with your canine companion to enjoy the area's furrific pet-friendly activities.

Holly Bay Campground has 47 sites, and each site can accommodate up to six campers and two vehicles. The sites have electrical hookups ranging from 20 to 50 amps, and nightly fees range from $29 to $58. There are lots of useful amenities at the campground; you’ll find campfire rings with grills, clean showers, lantern poles, a boat ramp, an ice machine, an amphitheater, and more! All of the amenities and facilities are well-maintained, so you and your pooch are sure to have a pleasant time at Holly Bay.

You and your woofer might want to try out some of the fun outdoor activities available in the area. Laurel River Lake, known for its calm, clear waters, is easily accessible from the campground and offers opportunities for boating, fishing, snorkeling, and swimming. There is also an out-and-back trail that connects to the campground; it can be used for a short stroll or a longer hike, whichever suits your preferences. The trail runs from the campground along Laurel River Lake to Vanhook Falls, and it spans about 4.5 miles total. It is known as both Vanhook Falls Trail and Holly Bay Campground Trail. Furry paws are welcome on the trail, but make sure to keep your dog on-leash!

There are a few things you should remember when you’re staying at Holly Bay Campground. Note that the campground is situated in an area with bears — you should take proper safety measures concerning the storage and disposal of food. Also remember to keep your dog on-leash at all times and clean up after your pooch as well.
