Description

Holmes Bend Campground is an ideal location for your next RV or primitive camping trip in Kentucky. It rests to the north of Columbia in the Northern Highland Rim. This pawesome campground welcomes dogs, so be sure to bring your canine companion along with you! The campground rests beside the scenic Green River Lake, which provides campers with the opportunity to enjoy numerous aquatic activities. Boating is a popular choice, and fishing and swimming are also available.

Holmes Bend Campground has 123 sites, and each site can accommodate up to six campers. There are three types of site: nonelectric, electric, and water + electric.  The nightly fees are $17, $23, and $25, respectively. The sites all have fire pits, lantern posts, and picnic tables. You can also find some great amenities on the premises, such as a dump station, playground, horseshoe pit, and volleyball courts.

As you can imagine, the campground’s extensive facilities make it a great place to pass time with your woofer. But there are also lots of furrific things to do around the campground as well! There are numerous trails near Green River Lake, and they offer a variety of difficulty levels for hiking. Scott Valley Trail is a moderate-difficulty choice—it is a loop-style trail with some uphill segments, and it allows dogs on-leash. It runs just over half a mile through the hardwood forest next to the lake. Another great option is Beaver Pond Trail. This trail also welcomes furry friends on-leash, and it is an easier trail with less elevation gain that runs in a loop totaling 0.6 miles. Just watch out for muddy conditions if there has been recent rainfall.

While you’re camping out at Holmes Bend Campground, make sure your dog stays on-leash. Also, remember to clean up after your dog at the campground. Have a grrr-eat time!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
