Description

Hyrum State Park, located in Cache County, Utah, is a favorite spot with locals and also draws visitors from far and wide. Covering approximately 265 acres, the park sits on the shores of the 450-acre Hyrum Reservoir and offers a pet-friendly campground for dog lovers and their furry friends.

As you'd expect, there's plenty to do on, in, and around the water in Hyrum State Park. Anglers are drawn to the sparkling blue waters in the hope of catching yellow perch, rainbow trout, channel catfish, largemouth bass, and more, and the park is known as an excellent fishing destination all year round.

In the summer months, however, it becomes a haven for those looking to indulge in a variety of other water sports. Waterskiing, swimming, kayaking, and canoeing are all popular pastimes, and the park can get a little crowded during summer.

Other features worth checking out include scenic picnic areas and hiking trails for those wanting to explore on foot. And the park, which is situated at an elevation of 4,700 feet, also acts as a great base for those wanting to explore nearby hiking, biking, and rock climbing attractions.

Hyrum State Park's campground offers more than 30 sites and can accommodate tents and RVs, with many sites offering beautiful lake views. Best of all, most of these campsites are pet-friendly. Two cabins are also available but do not permit pets.

As always, you'll need to take care to be a responsible pet owner and abide by all park rules and regulations. This means your pet will need to be on a leash of six feet or less, well behaved and controlled, and supervised at all times. You'll also need to clean up after your pet and dispose of their waste using the facilities provided.

This small, additional effort is all that's required to enjoy a pet-friendly camping trip with your pooch, and it's well worth it if you want to explore this outdoor recreation paradise with your canine companion.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
