Description

Indian Creek Equestrian Campground in the Rampart Range area is a puptacular place for avid trail riders to come with their mounts. There are seven campsites here. Each spot can accommodate tents or trailers up to 60 feet long, ten people, and four horses. Set up your base under a mixed canopy and explore the area. You'll find loops for hiking or horseback riding, a lookout point, and OHV areas nearby. Drinking water and pit toilets are available on-site.

Relax in a mixture of sun and shade at your campsite before forging out on the 14-mile Indian Creek Trail. This scenic pathway is open for hikers and equestrians. Walk through the forest and past meadows dotted with wildflowers. There are some stunning views of the granite mountain peaks from the pathway. Look for forest creatures like mule deer, elk, bighorn sheep, and raptors.

Head down to Devil's Head Trail #611 if you're up for a challenge. Take a short but steep climb through the aspens to the fire lookout tower. You may have to wait until other visitors come down before you go up the metal stairs. From the top, you'll be able to see Pike's Peak and the rock outcroppings of the Rampart Range. Other activities that are near the facility include fishing and boating.

Bring your special pal with you to this campground. Many of the trails allow dogs that are on-leash to tag along with you. Be careful to leave no trace by collecting their waste and packing it out. Secure your pup on a lead while in the facility.

You'll have a furrific time when you stay at Indian Creek Equestrian Campground! Reserve your spot at this busy facility at least four days before your visit. The fee includes one RV or two cars. There's a $6 charge for an extra vehicle. Make sure you follow bear safety practices here.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
