Jarvies Family Boat In

Up the ante for outdoor adventure at Jarvies Family Boat-In Campground in Utah at the Flaming Gorge Reservoir. As the name suggests, the only way to access the campground is via the water -- so load up your boat and head up the lake, where only nature awaits!

This facility only provides 8 dirt campsites, with amenities maxing out at picnic tables, fire rings, and vault toilets. Though the sites aren't fancy, they do offer pretty incredible views of the water -- and the red cliffs that meet these waves across the lake. If you like to plan ahead, act fast as only two of the sites can be reserved ahead of time. For the convenience of boating campers, there is also a small dock at these grounds.

While you're out here, be sure to join in on all of the fun happening out in the water. Motorized boats are allowed, so you can have your fill of wakeboarding and waterskiing. Anglers can cast their lines from the boat or stay on shore and try their luck from the dock. Your pupper will be pleased to know that a hiking trail cuts right across the campground, meaning you have no excuse not to get your woofer out for some quality exercise time. Other fun things to do here include mountain biking, exploring the nearby dam, or having a go at rafting.

When you're out partaking in all of this, make sure that someone is always hanging back with your doggo, as it isn't safe to leave them unattended. Leashes are required here, so make sure you have your fur-baby restrained at all times. And remember -- wherever you are, it only takes a moment to pick up after your pupper, keeping campgrounds like this one open to canine visitors.
