Description

Jessie M. Honeyman State Park offers a little something for everyone. Not only is it home to the second-largest state park campground in Oregon, but it also offers fishing, swimming, boating, beautiful wildflowers, and all the facilities you need for a comfortable stay.

The campground features more than 350 campsites for tents, trailers, and RVs, along with 10 yurts (five of which are pet-friendly) for those who want a few extra creature comforts. The campsite is wooded to provide shade and some privacy from neighbors. However, because it is such a large campground, please be aware that it can get quite busy during peak season.

Dogs are welcome in the Jessie M. Honeyman State Park campground (hooray!), but you'll need to follow a couple of simple rules. These include keeping your pet confined or leashed at all times, ensuring that they're well-behaved and quiet, and disposing of their waste.

If you can do that, you're free to explore the best this park has to offer. Many campers spend much of their time exploring the park's two lakes -- Cleawox offers a refreshing swimming spot while Woahink has a public boat ramp and is the ideal spot to take a rented canoe for a paddle.

Located just south of Florence, the park boasts beautiful coastal terrain and is just two miles from the ocean. However, please note that walking the two miles across the sand dunes from the campground to the ocean is not recommended. There are no marked trails and the area is open to ATV use, so you're better off using the beach access nearby at either the Siuslaw South Jetty or the Siuslaw North Jetty.

There's a $5 parking fee for day-use visitors to Jessie M. Honeyman State Park, but camping costs vary depending on the type of accommodation you select. Tent sites are $21 and electrical sites are $31, while the price of a full hookup site is $33. A night in a pet-friendly yurt will set you back $56.

Whether you're swimming in summer, admiring the vibrant pink rhododendrons in spring, picking berries in fall, or enjoying the solitude in winter, this popular campground offers something to do all year round.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
