Description

Johnson's of St. Mary Campground and RV Park is a rare find, as it is actually situated within the Blackfeet Indian Reservation in Montana, with views of the Rockies right from your site. This means if you and your pup plan to visit Johnson's of St. Mary, it's best to go in July when the North American Indian Day Celebration takes place, which brings Canadian and American aboriginal persons together to celebrate their culture.

Accommodations for those looking to pitch a tent, stay in a camper vehicle, or rent a cabin/cottage are available. A variety of cabins and cottage rentals with different amenities and furnishings are offered. However, these rentals are only available to those who leave Fido behind, as they're not dog-friendly. Both RV campsites and tent sites are dog-friendly. In total, there are over 70 tent sites and over 80 RV sites starting at $42 a night. Sites are located in forests, prairies, or with wrap-around views of the glaciers located nearby.

Not only is this campground historically rooted in the past and connected to aboriginal culture, but it also comes with amenities that are sure to please both you and your pup. You have the option of camping with all the luxuries (water, sewage, and electricity), or just having electrical hookups. You can also camp primitively if you're interested in "ruffing" it with your pooch. Furthermore, a renowned, family-style restaurant is located within the campground, giving you the chance to skip cooking and treat yourself.

This campground is perfectly situated at the eastern entrance of Glacier National Park, where you and your pooch can explore over 40 glaciers. Dogs are permitted to accompany owners into the park, as long as they remain on-leash at all times. Not all paths are dog-friendly, but keep in mind that when not taken over by snow, the bike path that connects Apgar and West Glacier is dog-friendly to leashed pups.

If camping among the glaciers is always something you've dreamed of doing, grab Fido and head on over to Montana's Johnson's of St. Mary Campground!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
