Love getting outside almost as much as you love your four-legged friend? Make sure you add Kincaid Lake State Park to your list of must-visit destinations.
Located 61 miles northeast of Lexington in Falmouth, Kentucky, this lovely state park offers a plethora of recreational opportunities for keen outdoor enthusiasts. If you love boating or fishing, the main drawcard of a visit to this area will undoubtedly be the chance to explore the lake itself. The park includes a marina and aÂ
boat ramp, as well as the option to rent row boats, motor boats, pedal boats and pontoon boats during peak periods.
Away from the water, there are plenty of other things you can do to get out and about in the fresh air. The lake is surrounded by open woodland, and there are around 2.25 miles of hiking trails to explore.
Kincaid Lake State Park also boasts a long list of facilities to keep the whole family happy. You can play a round or two on the hilly nine-hole golf course, take a dip in the swimming pool or play a round of miniature golf. Basketball, tennis, handball, volleyball and shuffleboard courts are all available, while a picnic shelter and playground are also provided.
If you want to stay the night, the campground features 84 sites with electric and water hookups. Pets are allowed on specific sites if restrained. You'll also need to make sure you keep your dog leashed and under your control throughout the park. Taking care to clean up after your pet at all times and to show courtesy to other park users, is also a must.
Kincaid Lake State Park offers ample opportunity for outdoor relaxation and recreation, and it's well worth checking out for a day, a weekend, or even longer. With your dog by your side, it offers the paw-fect camping experience.
