Description

An outdoor enthusiast’s dream come true, with lakeside views and numerous hiking opportunities, the Lonesomehurst Campground has it all. This beautiful campground is situated on the grassy banks of the Hebgen Lake in West Yellowstone, Montana. With breathtaking mountain views, serene landscapes, and fresh air, this pet-friendly campground will make you wish you could stay here forever. In case you do decide to leave your little piece of paradise, it's less than a 20-minute drive from the Yellowstone National Park.

Serving as a home base for hiking enthusiasts and wilderness lovers, this cozy campground features 26 grassy sites. While it is semi-primitive, the camp is equipped with vault toilets, running water, and food lockers for tent campers. Plus, each site has a picnic table, a fire pit, and some of the campsites are even equipped with electric hookups.

Tucked away in a lush forest just a few miles away from the entrance to America’s very first national park, the campground’s location could not be more perfect for fun outdoor activities with your family or friends. You and your four-pawed buddy will have plenty of trails to hike, mountains to climb, lakes to swim in and rivers to relax by. Make sure to pack your camera, because there are tons of scenic viewpoints you will want to capture, especially with your canine companion in the front and center.

The daily prices start at $20 per site, or $28 for those with electric hookups, both of which can be used by tent or RV campers. Firewood bundles are available for $6, and if you’re planning to park more than two cars per site, the fee for each additional car is $8 per day.

Since you are visiting bear country, make sure to store your food in the provided lockers if you are tent camping. Wildlife encounters are common in the Yellowstone area, which is another reason patrons should ensure that their dogs are always leashed and cleaned up after. Please make sure to pack enough doggie waste bags to last you your whole stay at Lonesomehurst Campground.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
