Loretta Lynn's Ranch & Family Campground
Loretta Lynn's Family Campground is no ordinary campground -- rather, it's also a ranch where history buffs will be pleased to find a variety of historical venues and attractions. Located in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee, this dog-friendly campground offers you and your pooch amenities that will meet both of your needs.
As Loretta Lynn's is also a ranch with a variety of attractions for tourists to explore, there’s a fee of $25 per person for both campers and non-campers. This pass grants visitors access to all the attractions within the campground and is an additional fee on top of the camping fee (but it is not required). With the pass, you can visit all of Western Town, where you’ll find shops including the Plantation Shop, Company Store, and the Grist Mill store. You can also visit the simulated coal mine, the museums, including the Coal Miners Daughter Museum, as well as concerts, stores, and gift shops. Your leashed pup is free to stroll along with you as you tour through the park.
Tent camping starts as low as $20 per night for primitive sites. For water and electric hookups, you'll pay just a bit more, and these sites are perfect for tents or smaller camping vehicles. RV sites come equipped with full hookup services, including sewage, and cost only $40 a night. Campers still have access to a variety of amenities and activities, even if they do not purchase the tour pass.
To keep busy, you and your pooch can take a dip in the creek. You can also partake in tubing down Hurricane Creek, kayaking, or taking a guided tour of the park by horse. You and Fido can participate in community campfire shows, cookouts, and picnics. For bikers and hikers, there are various trails situated around the campground that range in difficulty levels and lengths. Trail information is posted. Be on the lookout for trails that are marked off-limits to dogs, as they’re used for horseback riding tours. A motocross track is situated right within the park, which is fun to partake in or to just watch with your pooch. Other sports and activities found at the campground include volleyball, horseshoes, and special events hosted by staff.
