Louisville North Campground is a family-operated campground located in Clarksville, Indiana, right on the Indiana-Kentucky border. The campground which sits on three acres of land offers RV, tent and cabin camping. The campground is popular for a variety of reasons, primarily due to the offered amenities and close location to downtown Louisville and the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. It's also a favored destination for family trips and group camping.Â
The campground is easily accessible from I-65 and features paved roads that even bigger RVs (up to 70 feet) can comfortably navigate through. Although little to no highway traffic can be heard most of the time, occasional train noise can be heard in the distance. There are approximately 100 paved, full-service sites, 14 dry camping sites, and 13 tent sites. Most of the sites are either pull-through or back-ins with 20, 30 and 50 amp connections. Site prices start at $42 per night. Rental cabins are available as well and can accommodate up to 4 people. They are equipped with a double bed, bunk bed, a grill, picnic table, and a porch swing. Canines are welcome at the tent sites, which have water and electricity available.Â
Restrooms with flushing toilets and warm showers are available at the campground. There is also a game room, a swimming pool and a playground on-site which helps keep kids entertained and parents well rested. Plus, there is a snack bar, a camp store, high-speed internet, and cable -- all of which guarantee that visitors have a comfortable, stress-free camping experience. Dog owners will be happy to find two pet walking and exercise areas. Â
The campground’s staff are said to be very attentive and helpful; they do a great job at keeping the campground clean and well-stocked. There is an RV service right next door, and you can purchase gas, diesel, and propane without leaving the camp’s grounds. If you end up staying here, make sure to visit the Kentucky Derby Museum, the Louisville Science Center, Falls of the Ohio State Park and Museum and the Churchill Downs racetrack.Â
