Description

Located in an accessible, but out-of-the-city location inside the Flat Tops Wilderness, Marvine Campground is located near Meeker, Colorado. This quaint, cute, and well-equipped campground is ideal for people and pets who want to 'ruff' it in the Colorado wilderness for a bit. The campground is perched on the banks right along the Marvine Creek and has easy access to lots of trails and lakes that are great for hiking, swimming, fishing, horseback riding, and hunting. In fact, this campground is specifically set up for equestrian camping and is equipped with six horse campsites (among the other sites that are available for non-equestrians). There's even a corral for public use at the campground for folks who are camping with their horses.

This campground is at an elevation of about 8,200 feet and is an ideal spot for folks on the hunt for outdoor adventure! There are 18 campsites available and you're welcome to make a reservation up to three days in advance. All sites are non-electric, but there is a hand pump for water on-site. Each site features a food locker, a picnic table, a fire ring and pit, a horse hitching post, and plenty of shade and privacy.

Your dog can join you on this adventurous trip, too! Please keep your pup on-leash when you're at the campground, ensure that they are on their best behavior, and be cautious if your pooch is wary around horses.

This campground is a great base camp for folks and their pups who want to explore the Marvine Trail. If you enjoy hiking, head up to the Big Marvine Peak for panoramic views of the Flat Tops Wilderness. Looking to fish? Check out Marvine Lake or Slide Lake. These two bodies of water offer over 135 surface acres of beauty and are filled with several species of trout!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
