Of course, you will have access to the Grand Canyon, the Colorado River, the desert, forest, and many different hiking, walking, and biking trails. The campground is very large and offers the only camping sites within the Grand Canyon Village. It has an astounding 327 campsites to choose from. Scenic overlooks and the Visitor's Center is close as well. The site sits right under a shady canopy of Ponderosa Pine trees. You will have some of the best views of the sunrise and sunset as well.
All of the campsites have a fire ring, grilling grates, picnic table, parking spots, and enough room to host 3 large tents. Flushing toilets and drinking water pumps are all throughout the park, so you have plenty of access to both at all times. There are spots for your RV, but no hookups are provided. Free dump stations for your trash are available as well. You can also enjoy amenities like showers, general store, grocery store, campfire circles, ice machine, firewood, showers, laundry, and much more! Peak season runs from March to November.
Your dog is more than welcome to stay at this campground with you, but they must wear a 6-foot leash or shorter at all times. Dogs are never allowed to roam freely. Always pick up after your dog and bring your own poop bags to clean up their business. Bags can be discarded at the dump station.
Overall, Mathers Campground is in one of the best locations possible and will provide an unforgettable camping experience for the whole family.
