Description

Moccasin Creek State Park is a beautiful campground located on scenic Lake Burton. This campground has 48 sites that can accommodate tents and RVs, all of which offer electrical hookups. The daily rate for this furrific campground is $34, and you'll also need to pay a $5 parking fee.

If you and your dog love hiking together, Moccasin Creek State Park is a great choice for you. The 1.5-mile Hemlock Falls Hiking Trail begins right next to the campground. This out-and-back trail takes you along Moccasin Creek and passes by beautiful Hemlock Falls. Moccasin Creek State Park is also home to the mile-long interpretive Wildlife Trail, which takes you to an observation tower that provides great views of the surrounding area. If you’d like to go for a longer hike, Moccasin Creek State Park is also just a short drive from many beautiful trails that take you through the Great Smoky Mountains.

Moccasin Creek State Park also has plenty of fun activities for water lovers. You can spend the day out on 2,800-acre Lake Burton, which allows motorized and non-motorized boats. If you’re bringing a boat, the campground had a ramp you can use. The lake is also a popular place to go canoeing, paddleboarding, and kayaking. Anglers can also try their luck catching freshwater fish at this scenic lake. However, fishing is only open to campers over the age of 65 and under the age of 12, unless you have a Georgia disability fishing license.

After your day’s adventures are done, you and your dog can relax and enjoy the amenities at the campground. Moccasin Creek State Park’s campground is home to a fun playground and a horseshoe pit. There are also plenty of picnic tables where you and your furry best friend can enjoy a meal with a great view.
