Description

Morganton Point is a beautiful campground on the shore of Lake Blue Ridge, located within the Chattahoochee National Forest. The campground’s 43 campsites are all surrounded by thick trees that provide shade. Dogs are welcome to join you at this pawesome campground on-leash.

If you’d like to go hiking while you’re on your camping trip, there are plenty of great trails located in and around Morganton Point. If you want to go on a short and scenic stroll, hop on the Morganton Point Lake Trail. This 0.4-mile trail begins in Morganton Point Campground, and it takes you along lovely Lake Blue Ridge.

If you and your pup want to go on a longer trek, the Aska Trail System is just a short drive from Morganton Point. This trail system features 17 miles of rugged trails that take you through the forest and past vistas where you’ll get great views of the surrounding area.

Morganton Point also has plenty of fun activities for water lovers. If you’re bringing a boat, a boat ramp is available at the campground. Many people also enjoy jet skiing and waterskiing in the lake. You can also go swimming in Lake Blue Ridge, or you can relax on the shore and try your luck fishing for freshwater fish.

At the end of the day, you and your pup can relax and enjoy your campsite’s amenities. Each campsite comes with a picnic table, charcoal grill, and campfire ring. If you’d like to build a fire at night, firewood is available at the campground. Please don't bring your own firewood -- purchase on-site to help prevent the spread of harmful pests.

Morganton Point is a fun-filled lakeside campground that has lots of great amenities for water lovers and hikers. Bring doggy bags with you so you can clean up after your dog while you’re camping, and enjoy spending time at this furrific campground!
