Description
Mount Misery Campground is located in the Connecticut St Pachaug State Forest. Mount Misery is a small campground with only twenty-two campsites to choose from. The usage at the campsite is light, and there are never an overwhelming amount of people camping at this location. Close to the campground, you will find Mt. Misery Overlook, which gives you some of the best scenic views the area has to offer. The scenic overviews draw in larger crowds of people throughout the year, especially during the fall months when the leaves are changing colors.

In the area, you will have access to your fair share of activities to choose from while you are camping. Hiking is the most popular activity in the region, and there are many trails to choose from. Beachdale Pond is close to the campsites and fishing is popular in this pond with campers. You can even cook the fish you catch for dinner, if you so please. Snowmobiling in the winter and motorcycling in the warmer months are favorite pastimes as well.

At the actual campground, amenities are limited. If you are looking for a true bare-bones camping experience, this may just be the place for you to go. You will have access to a simple composting toilet, picnic area, fresh drinking water, recycling bins, and a parking area for your car. There are no showers, hookups, Wi-Fi, trash cleanup, dump stations, or extra amenities like these. You will be expected to make your own campfire ring, and there are no poop bags provided at the site either. You need to bring your own poop bags and clean up after your dog at all times. Dogs are also expected to wear their leash throughout their stay.

Overall, Mount Misery Campground lies in a scenic location and gives its campers a quiet, peaceful, and back-to-nature style of camping with no frills or fuss. We think you and your dog will like getting away from everyday busy life and enjoy only the sounds of nature.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
