Description

Nottingham Campground is a hidden gem in Oregon. It sits tucked away in Mt. Hood National Forest, which spans over one million acres in the area east of Portland. Nottingham is a relatively primitive campground, which makes it great for escaping the frustrations of daily life and immersing yourself in the campground’s beautiful natural surroundings. You can also take advantage of the area’s numerous activities while you stay at the campground, making it an ideal location for outdoors enthusiasts. The campground allows dogs on the premises, so you can bring your canine companion along too!

Nottingham Campground is composed of 19 sites. The sites can accommodate both tent and RV campers, and the nightly fee for a single site is $21. The campground has a very minimalist and natural layout, so there are limited amenities available — vault restrooms, picnic tables, fire pits with grills, tent pads, and trash receptacles are the extent of the facilities. The campground’s surroundings are pleasant; the Upper Hood River flows beside the campground, and there are plenty of trees to shield the sites from direct sunlight.

If you are interested in the area’s outdoor activities, you will have plenty of options to explore. The campground is located near both Mt. Hood and the Hood River, and these provide lots of opportunities for hiking, fishing, biking, wildlife viewing, and more. If you’re looking for something to do close by the campground, you can head to the Tamanawas Falls Trailhead, a perfect spot for hikers of all skill levels.

There are a few things you should consider when you’re planning your journey to Nottingham Campground. Note that while the campground does allow RVs, you won’t have access to any RV hookups. Dogs must remain leashed at all times at the campground. Also, remember to always clean up after your dog while you’re staying at Nottingham Campground.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
