The Holbrook area has interesting places to visit, including a downtown area with historic buildings and the Old Courthouse, where you can learn about Navaho history. You can visit the famous Wigwam Hotel off of Route 66. The spectacular Painted Desert and Petrified Forest are close by, for those who desire to have the time to marvel at these natural spectacles. You might blink twice when you see the gigantic dinosaurs!Â
Dogs are permitted throughout the park. Make sure to bring a leash for dog walking and try to keep everyone feeling comfortable during your stay. There are no dog runs, so you will need to be walking your dog. Also - there is no grass. Consider those tender paws and the outside temperature to keep your dog comfortable and safely hydrated. Without much shade, you might even take an umbrella to keep you and your pooch shaded while taking your stroll. Be a good owner and neighbor by always cleaning up after your pet and properly disposing of the doggie-doo bags. Never leave your pet unattended or tethered outside.Â
