Right in central Fort Lauderdale, RV travelers will find their perfect destination getaway, aptly named Paradise Island RV Resort. Whether you want to get away from it all and hide away from the responsibilities of daily life, or you're just looking for a place to relax in between hitting all of the tourist spots in Fort Lauderdale and the surrounding areas, this is the RV place for you, and for Fido, too!
Your stay will include access to amenities like a heated pool, a game room and a billiards room, organized activities in the winter, an on-site laundry room, and restrooms and showers. Conveniences include free WiFi, a library lending room, and a barbecue area. The resort is only four miles from the ocean, so you will be able to smell the fresh air and feel the breeze.
There is also a dog-walking area and guest pet-sitting option. There are some pet restrictions on quantity and breed, so plan on calling ahead before you make your reservation to ensure that your four-legged furred family will fit the criteria.
Depending on the season, your length of stay, and the options you choose for your site, your rates per night will vary. The minimum rate for a standard RV is $45 for two people.
A trip to Florida just isn't complete with a visit to one of the magnificent beaches surrounding the peninsula, but what to do with Fido? Don't worry -- Fort Lauderdale hosts a multitude of dog-friendly beaches, and you can find many of them within 15 minutes of the Paradise Island RV Resort. Try the Dog Swim at Snyder Park, Holiday Park Dog Park, or Canine Beach (only open Friday through Sunday). Be sure to pack lots of water to keep you and Fido hydrated -- salt water doesn't count! Keep the sun in mind, as well -- lack of shade in the RV park and on the beach is unhealthy for you and can be deadly to dogs.
Please note that all of the beaches have different rules and regulations in order for your woofer to safely play. Contact the beach ahead of time to ensure that you are going while they are open, you know what the admission fee is, and you are prepared for their rules.
Stay in the park or head to your attractions, but whichever you choose, you'd be barking mad not to make Paradise Island RV Resort your next travel destination!
