Description

Situated on shimmering Lake Allatoona in Acworth, Georgia is Payne Campground. Despite the name, there's nothing painful about this campground! Rather, it’s an adventure-filled location that's packed with amenities for you and your pooch to enjoy.

This is a pet-friendly campground, so do be sure to bring Fido along for your camping adventure. You're asked to keep your pup on a leash at all times that is no longer than six feet and tidy any mess they make. Campers also need to note that there’s a restriction of two dogs per campsite. Some breeds are also prohibited; call the campground before booking to confirm breed restrictions. Dogs are not permitted to be left alone at any time. They’re also not allowed to enter the swimming beach or any of the buildings within the campground. Some hiking trails are off limits to your pooch, but these trails are marked.

In total, there are just over 50 spacious sites at this campground. Rates begin as low as $22 per night for non-electric tent campsites. Tent sites can also come with electricity, depending on the perks you're interested in. RV sites are available and range in their amenities and location. Some sites are actually right on the lake, like the tent sites, giving you unforgettable views of the morning sunrise or evening sunset. RV sites only come with electric hookups; there is no sewage or water. All campgrounds do have a personal fire pit and picnic table for guests to use at their convenience.

Some perks of Payne Campground include having beach access, complete with a boat ramp and a dock. In the lake, you can also enjoy fishing, swimming, and riding the waves in a boat (rentals are available at the campground). Other activities found at the campground are picnicking, wildlife viewing, and hiking. For amenities, Payne Campground comes equipped with hot showers, flush toilets, lantern holders, and laundry facilities.

Payne Campground offers guests an opportunity to explore Lake Allatoona while experiencing Georgia's beautiful outdoors. If you and your pooch are searching for a new camping destination, swing by Payne Campground for an authentic outdoor vacation!
