Description

Are you and Fido looking to explore a mountain this season? That's what the guests of Peppersauce Campground have to enjoy when they stay at this no-frills nature escape! This campground sits right at the base of Mount Lemmon, whose peak reaches well over 9,000 feet. This incredible landmark makes for the perfect wild adventure with your pooch in tow.

Don't expect too many comforts during your stay at this campground. The sites do not accommodate pull-thrus, and only small trailers can be brought in. Tents are the preferred type of dwelling when checking out what Peppersauce has to offer. There is drinking water at the grounds, along with grills, picnic tables, and campfire rings, but don't expect to use your phone to Google camping tips -- the area has no cell service! It's also a good idea to bring along a fully-stocked first aid kit, as the nearest hospital is a ways away.

Embrace ruffing it with your furry friend and check out the excellent hiking that this area is known for. If you own an offroad vehicle, this is the place to test its guts! And come nighttime, you will be in awe of the incredible night show that is the starlit sky. Be careful, though; if you go during the rainy season, things can get messy very quickly. The creek is known to flood the grounds and the roads become quite treacherous when washed out.

There is one group site that can be reserved at Peppersauce and it can hold up to 35 campers. The cost for this site is $50, and booking ahead is recommended if you're planning to camp as a group. There are also single sites available and they are free to stay at, though it is a first-come-first-served situation.

If your pupper is your go-to camping buddy, please keep them close while at this facility. There are bears here, so cleaning up your dog's waste and throwing it out correctly is really important. It is also imperative to store food correctly so you don't get an uninvited visit from Smokey! Speaking of Smokey, this campground asks that you purchase your firewood from a local vendor to avoid the spread of pests.

If you come prepared for a wild trek in the woods, you are sure to have an adventure at Peppersauce!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
