This RV Park is conveniently located inside of Pikes Peak State Park. This picturesque State Park allows its visitors to observe gorgeous views of the Mississippi and Wisconsin Rivers from a 500-foot bluff. Any outdoor enthusiast would be in heaven here as there are multiple hiking paths that vary in length, equaling eleven and a half total miles. One can walk or even take mountain bikes on some of the trails. There are areas during the winter that allow Cross Country Skiing! Some of the beautiful landscapes within the park are Bridal Veil Falls and Point Ann. The park also has a concession store that offers ice, refreshments, and souvenirs just a short distance from the campground. Other inclusions are picnic areas, a playground, water hydrants, and plenty of wildlife.Â
The campground allows you to enjoy these outdoor activities right out the door of your RV or tent. Sixty electrical hook-up sites and seventeen additional sites make up this favorite Iowa destination. Thirty-one of the 77 sites are available on first-come, first-served bases with the others needing a reservation. The most populated times when campsites fill up are from May - September with the slowest months being April and October. Be sure to reserve your site during the busy times to guarantee a spot.Â
Just a hop, skip, and jump away from the State Park are areas that you can go boating, canoeing, fishing, hunting, golfing, and antiquing.Â
It is uncertain if your furry-friends are allowed to accompany you for an overnight trip based on the website; however, reviews of the area on TripAdvisor mention that it is in-fact pet-friendly. It is advised that you call the campground itself before visiting to check on the dog rules. Always remember that hikes can be tiring for both you and your pooch. Pack plenty of water for the both of you and be respectful of the natural beauty and wildlife. Don't let your dog chase the animals/birds/reptiles or run off without your direct supervision.Â
