Description

Pine Point Campground is a large-group, single-site campground in northern California. It rests beside Shasta Lake, and its beautiful surroundings and great location make it a favorite destination of many California campers. The campground is located in Shasta-Trinity National Forest, a huge expanse that covers five wilderness areas and houses some of the most awe-inspiring mountain views in the entire country. If you’re looking for the perfect spot to kick back, relax, and immerse yourself in nature with a group of friends or family, then you’ve found the right place. Because Pine Point Campground is dog-friendly, you can bring your pooch along too!

The campground’s sole site can accommodate up to 100 campers at a time, and its nightly fee is $130. There are a number of amenities on the premises, such as picnic tables, fire rings with grills, tent pads, parking spurs, food storage lockers, and drinking water. The area also has plenty of shade from the surrounding trees, and the mountains in the distance contribute to the campground’s wonderful backdrop.

If you’re looking for ways to fill your time at Pine Point, you have many options. Shasta Lake is a great place for boating and fishing. For more aquatic activities, you can head to Hirz Bay, which is four miles away and has a public boat ramp. You can also stop by one of the many trailheads in Shasta-Trinity; the area is known as a prime hiking location, and you’re sure to spot some awesome wildlife and plant species as you explore.

There are a few things to keep in mind when you’re planning your trip to Pine Point. Your group will need to contact the recreation office one week before your arrival date to receive the security code to the campground. No refunds are offered here, so make sure you have the code before you arrive. Note that dogs must remain on-leash at all times. Also, the campground is situated in an active bear area, so make sure you store and dispose of food safely. Finally, motorboats are not permitted on Shasta Lake.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
