Description

Journey with a group of your close friends to middle earth -- er, no, we mean the Curecanti National Recreation Area, although once you get here, you'll understand our confusion. It's hard to accept the fact that not only is this place real, it's right in our nation's Rocky Mountain range of Colorado. It is here between three different reservoirs that you'll find the Red Creek Group Site, where you can experience all of the wonders of this region with your four-legged pal by your side.

There is only one site in this area and it can accommodate anywhere from 9 to 25 guests at a time. On the lot, you'll have access to grills, picnic tables, and a fire pit, along with drinking water nearby. If you need a shower, you'll have to head over to Elk Creek (and bring some coins along). To book the group site, expect to pay $28 per night in addition to any reservation fees.

In a place as beautiful as this, you'll never run out of things to explore! Take your pupper to Dillon Pinnacles Trail to check out the amazing ash formations that contribute to the area's unearthly feel, or head to the Cimarron Canyon Rail Exhibit to learn about the trains that used to frequent the region. When it comes to water fun, each of the three reservoirs has something different to offer, with Blue Mesa having some of the best fishing opportunities around! One of the bodies of water allows for motorized boats, so bring yours along for fun times above the waves.

Canine campers are welcome at the group site, but as per Curecanti National Recreation Area rules, you must keep them on-leash during your visit. Also, to keep this facility welcoming to all, be sure to clean up all pet waste while you're here.

For your next group camping trip, don't miss out on the amazing Red Creek Group Site!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
