Description

When spring rolls into summer, some folks head for the beach, while others prefer a mountain retreat where the air is crisp and views are simply breathtaking.

The Blue Ridge Mountains is the grandiose setting for Riva Vista RV Resort, a hideaway haven where the rollercoaster of life is reinvented with an abundance of forest pines, wildlife, and a pace that takes you back to the early settlers who made this land their home.

Setting a course for this campground is a return to tranquility and where happiness begins for RVers with full-hookups to electricity (30/50 amp water and sewer) at an average daily rate of $55. The resort is open all year round, and rates vary from season to season.

You can pick your own site, and choices include back-in or pull-through access on concrete or gravel pads. Thick, bushy trees provide shade, and there's a picnic table on each site. Communal gas grills are dotted around the park.

If a mountain cabin is your dream stay, the resort accommodations will not disappoint. Each cabin is fully furnished with a working kitchen, bathroom, microwave, and TV. Some of the cottages are dog-friendly with a daily fee of $25 attached. Pooches that weigh less than 30 pounds are very welcome at the resort and asked to remain on a 6-foot leash or less when outside a cabin or RV. Guardians are expected to provide litter bags and pick up their woofers' waste. Good behavior is expected, and Doberman, Rottweiler, Pitbull breeds will be refused entry. A fully fenced dog park lets pups kick up their paws off-leash, with hiking trails for daily exercise.

The hosts at River Vista RV Resort are motivated and always looking to improve their services. You can swim any time of the year in their heated, indoor pool and forget about the early morning alarm clock as you unwind in the resort spa. Staying social online is a breeze with complimentary wifi, while cable TV is accessible for a nominal fee.

Keep up your fitness in the resort gym or get the kids out on the basketball court while the little ones head for the playground. Imagine being invited to a conference at this mountain nirvana, where the venue is fully kitted out with a chef-style kitchen for top-class catering. The camp also features a store and enticing library.

River Vista RV Resort is a classy affair with sparkling bathhouses, a laundry facility, and fun activities for young and old. Look forward to movie nights, horseshoes, and ice cream parties for the kids.

There is a world of masterful adventure waiting for the outdoor explorer at the Great Smokey Mountains National Park under an hour’s drive from the resort. Gregory Bald Trail presents a colorful walk with an array of azalea flowers blooming in the month of June. Many come to see this enchanting display while others are here for the Smokeys, a monumental avatar of lakes, and untamed terrain.

Closer to home is the endearing city Of Dillard, with family-friendly restaurants and a treasure trove of antique stores. Choosing to stay at River Vista opens a portal to an arena of scenery and active pursuits!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
